Get Used to It
How can I text from a Windows PC after switching from iPhone to Android?
You can use Google Messages for web to send and receive texts from a Windows browser while using Google Messages on your Android phone. This replaces part of the convenience of iMessage on a Mac, but it is a separate service.
What to do
- Set up Google Messages as your Android phone’s texting app and make sure it is up to date.
- On the phone, open Google Messages > account menu > Device pairing.
- On your Windows PC, open https://messages.google.com/web and follow the on-screen pairing instructions, usually using your Google Account and a matching emoji confirmation.
- Keep the phone connected to the internet while using Messages for web.

Do not require QR-code pairing: Google states this older route is no longer available in the US. Carrier SMS/MMS charges may apply, and the phone and computer need internet connectivity.
