Should I Switch?
How do AirDrop, iCloud passwords, and Universal Clipboard help Apple users?
Apple devices can work together in several ways: AirDrop shares nearby files, iCloud Keychain keeps supported passwords and passkeys synchronized, and Universal Clipboard lets you copy on one supported Apple device and paste on another. These are separate features with different requirements.
What to do
- For AirDrop, enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on nearby Apple devices and use Share > AirDrop to send a supported item.
- For saved credentials, sign in to the same Apple Account on approved devices and enable iCloud Keychain/Passwords sync.
- For Universal Clipboard, keep the devices nearby with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Handoff enabled, then copy on one device and paste on the other.
- If something does not work, verify software compatibility, Apple Account, connectivity, and each feature’s settings separately.
Limits and compatibility notes
Check this before relying on the answer
AirDrop, iCloud Keychain, and Universal Clipboard are not one all-purpose transfer system, and they do not automatically provide identical integration with every Android device. Universal Clipboard contents remain available only briefly.
