What is Pixel Call Screen, and can it help with unknown callers?

On supported Pixel phones in the US, Call Screen can ask an unknown caller who they are and why they are calling before you answer. You can read a transcript and decide whether to pick up, decline, or respond. Some supported Pixel models can screen certain calls automatically.

What to do

  1. Update the Phone by Google app.
  2. Open Phone > More > Settings > Spam and Call Screen or Call Screen (if available).
  3. Review automatic screening options and their protection levels, if your model supports them.
  4. For manual screening, tap Screen call on an incoming call when the option appears.
  5. Check the caller’s response before deciding to answer.

Limits and compatibility notes

Check this before relying on the answer Availability depends on country, SIM, model, and app version. Automatic screening does not work during roaming in some cases and may not work with call forwarding. It will not catch every spam call; caller transcripts can be imperfect.
