Fix a Problem
What should I do when a Samsung phone shows a moisture warning and will not charge?
A Galaxy phone may stop wired charging when it detects moisture in the USB port to protect the device. Do not force wired charging while the warning is present. A warning does not, by itself, prove whether there is actual moisture, contamination, or a hardware problem.
What to do
- Disconnect the charging cable immediately.
- If the phone was wet, gently remove surface moisture with a soft, dry cloth.
- Let the port dry in a well-ventilated area with cool air; avoid heat and liquids.
- Inspect the USB port for visible debris without inserting metal objects.
- When the port is dry, try a known-compatible cable and charger; if the warning persists, contact Samsung support or a service center.
Limits and compatibility notes
Check this before relying on the answer
Do not bypass a moisture warning or insert tools, hot air, chemicals, or rice into the USB port. A genuinely wet port can be damaged by charging. Wireless charging may be an option only if the device supports it and the phone itself is otherwise dry and safe.
