Move Your Stuff
Will I stay signed in to my apps after switching phones?
Not necessarily. Some apps restore some data during a phone migration, but you should expect to sign in again to at least some services. Google's newer upgraded iPhone-to-Android transfer can include passwords and app data on supported devices, with app data depending on the developer. That does not guarantee that active sessions, bank security approvals, or every two-factor-authentication setup will be transferred.
What to do
- Before changing phones, check that you can access the email or phone number used for important accounts.
- Review your password manager and authentication or recovery options, especially for banking, email, and work accounts.
- During setup, follow the official transfer method for your specific phone and select supported account or password data if offered.
- Install your apps on the new phone, sign in where prompted, and re-enable biometric unlock or app-specific permissions.
- Test essential accounts and two-factor authentication before erasing or trading in the old phone.
Limits and compatibility notes
Check this before relying on the answer
App sessions can be deliberately restricted to one device for security. Transfer support differs by OS version, carrier, device and app developer; a copied app or password is not a guarantee of a preserved login. Never share authentication codes or recovery keys with transfer utilities that are not trusted by your provider.
