Android → iPhone Get Used to It

Can I make a custom ringtone from a FLAC file on iPhone?

A FLAC audio file cannot simply be selected as an iPhone ringtone from Files in the same way as some Android phones. You generally need to convert or import audio using a supported ringtone-creation workflow, such as GarageBand.

What to do

  1. Check your iOS version and whether Files offers Use as Ringtone for a supported short audio clip.
  2. If that option is unavailable, use Apple’s documented GarageBand ringtone export workflow.
  3. Select the created ringtone under Settings > Sounds & Haptics.

Limits and compatibility notes

Check this before relying on the answer A FLAC file may require conversion to a supported format; DRM-protected music may not export. Ringtone options differ by iOS release and clip duration.
